WHAT WE DO
The Butterfly Project, started in 2014, provides caring homes to girls in the Philippines who have survived sexual abuse or child trafficking. These girls, our “butterflies,” share a common experience of suffering and survival – some were sold into sexual slavery, some were exploited on the Internet, and some were sexually abused in their homes by family members they once trusted, yet all have found a loving home at the Butterfly Project. Children who have experienced such abuse need to feel safe first and foremost. When they feel safe, they are better able to work towards healing and restoration. The aftercare process in a child’s life is like that of a butterfly; the time spent in a cocoon develops them into a new creature. The Butterfly Project is all about bringing the gift of hope through the saving love of Jesus Christ.
By contributing to the Butterfly Project, you will provide resources each girl needs as she overcomes trauma, finds healing, and is one day ready to fly on her own. We support our butterflies on this journey by caring for their hearts, minds, strength and spirits.
