About The Butterfly Project
We Love Our Butterflies
The Butterfly Project, started in 2013, provides long-term caring homes to girls in the Philippines who have survived sexual abuse and/or exploitation. These girls, our “butterflies,” share a common experience of suffering and survival – some were sold into sexual slavery, some were exploited on the Internet, and some were sexually abused in their homes by family members they once trusted, yet all have found a loving home at the Butterfly Project. Children who have experienced such abuse need to feel safe first and foremost. When they feel safe, they are better able to work towards healing and restoration.
By contributing to the Butterfly Project, you will provide resources each girl needs as she overcomes trauma, finds healing, and is one day ready to fly on her own. We support our butterflies on this journey by caring for their hearts, minds, strength and spirits.
In every way the Butterfly Project is preparing girls to thrive by becoming healthy, and happy adults.
Our Amazing Staff
We at the Butterfly Project strive to build a safe environment so our girls can trust. Once they are able to trust, the hard work of healing can begin. We have counselors and trained staff who are equipped to walk alongside these girls on their healing journey. In all that we do, we point these precious girls to Jesus, the true healer of our pain. This is not an easy road to walk by any means. Often, they fall. We are always there to pick them up and help them to walk again.
